PPIAC has senior, associate, apprentice and affiliate memberships. Service- and industry-related businesses can also join in a special category.

Senior membership is available to an individual currently primarily devoted to the practice of private investigation and who has more than 6,000 hours of previous experience.

Associate membership is available to an individual currently primarily devoted to the practice of private investigations and has 2,000 hours of previous investigative experience.

Apprentice membership is available to an individual who does not have a private investigative background, and who does not meet the requirements of senior or associate membership.

Affiliate membership is available to an individual who meets the senior membership category but resides outside of Colorado.

Dues are $125 per year. An application fee of $175 is required for initial membership for in-state investigators. This is a $50 fee and your first year's dues of $125. For out-of-state investigators, the application fee is $225. This is a $100 fee and your first year's dues of $125. You are considered an out-of-state applicant if you have lived outside of Colorado in the past seven years. Dues run from January 1 to December 31. If an applicant is not accepted, the background fee is not refunded; however, the $125 dues will be refunded.

Service and industry membership is for businesses associated with the investigative fields. These businesses promote and assist investigators in their work. The fee for a service and industry membership is $250 annually. You are listed on the sponsor section of the web page, free space at the annual conference, advertising in the directory and you are listed with the membership.
